Launched the Pharmacy Innovation Network (PIN), a research network for community pharmacies and pharmacists interested in partnering on research initiatives to improve care to people in communities.
NIH All of Us Precision Medicine Initiative to establish a nationwide research network representative of the diversity of people in the United States. We partnered with the University’s Clinical Research Institute and Giant Eagle Pharmacies to serve as key enrollment and education sites.
CDC/Pennsylvania Department of Health/Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association grant and partnership to develop the foundation of the Pennsylvania Pharmacist Care Network to foster the growth of community pharmacy patient care services statewide. (2013-present)
Partnership with the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) Foundation to develop, manage, and mentor the NACDS Foundation Faculty Scholars Program. This nationwide program for assistant professors supports the growth of each faculty’s community-based research program.
Continuously integrate state and national patient care initiatives into P2 CLIP Workshop series including Million Hearts Initiative (2013), Script Your Future (2015-2019), Poison Prevention with Pittsburgh Poison Center(2016-present), Be Antibiotics Aware with the CDC and Pennsylvania Department of Health (2016-present)
P2 Experiential Learning designed to simulate a community pharmacy enhanced services network. All 114 P2 students have 12, 8-hour sessions at a community pharmacy location providing and documenting, and “billing” for patient care to simulate the working of a clinically integrated network
Created the Community Leadership & Innovation in Practice Workshop (CLIP) Series within the P2 community pharmacy IPPE experience. Four workshops are held during the spring semester modeled after a state or national association meeting. To date, over 20 state and national speakers have joined the series. Students, preceptors, faculty and alumni participate.
